CH Nubilop Acres Scoobee Doo
I
don't think there is anybody that has Nubians
that travels the same show circuit as we do, that does not know
Scoobee Doo. Scoobee is Dale's doe and he is mighty proud
of her as he well deserves to be. Scoobee is the highest
classifying doe we have ever raised classifying EX92 this year
as a six-year-old. She is a powerful doe with a wide chest with
tremendous depth from her heart girth clear down through her
barrel. She has a very beautiful capacious mammary system, both
rear and fore that milks down to nothing. She has those gorgeous
ears that her sire is so great about passing on to his
offspring. Her set of triplets freshened this spring as
two-year-olds, all very nice. We retained one and sold the
other two. One of them went to Cole Meador and he has done
extremely well with her winning many two-year-old classes and
even winning a Reserve Senior Champion. The other daughter,
Tutu, that we kept has done very well also. Scoobee was shown
only in Champion Challenge classes in 2008 with the
exception of the Missouri State Fair where she won Senior
Champion and 1st Udder of Class and the Nebraska State Fair
where she won Senior Champion and 1st Udder of Class. At
the 2007 ADGA Nationals she placed 8th in the five-year-old
class as well as being part of the 2nd place Senior Get-Of-Sire.
Her
lifetime show record includes: 5xReserve Senior Champion,
7xSenior Grand Champion, 3xBest-Of-Breed, 3xBest Udder-Of-Breed
and 2xBest Udder-In-Show.

Charisma's Gigi
Gigi
is one of those rare does who comes along and
takes your breath away. After a back injury late this
summer, which took me out of the show ring and left Dale and my
sister, Nancy, to do the showing, I was able to sit back and
watch our does in the show ring. It really gives you a
different perspective on things. Even if Gigi had not
been our doe, she was a doe I could simply not take my eyes off
of. She is very elegant in the show ring with those
beautiful bell shaped ears, beautiful breed character, deep
bodied with a wide chest, and a lovely mammary system.
Gigi has only given us one doeling, Nubilop Acres Gi's Lovely
Lady, who will freshen as a first freshening two-year-old this
spring. Gigi is the dam of our herdsire, Nubilop
Acres Way Too Hot. Gigi was shown in Champion
Challenge classes only in the 2008 show season winning 5X Best
of Breed, 3X Best Udder of Breed, 1X Best Doe In Show, and 2X
Best Udder In Show. She was shown at the 2007 ADGA
Nationals and placed 2nd in the 4-year-old class with 3rd place
udder, as well as being part of the 2nd place Produce Of Dam and
2nd place Senior Get-Of-Sire. Her lifetime show record includes:
5xSenior Grand Champion, 10xBest-Of-Breed, 6xBest Udder-Of-Breed,
2xBest Senior Doe-In-Show and 3xBest Udder-In-Show.

Simone
Simone
is a very powerful doe with tremendous width in her chest and
beautiful chest extension. She is a little rough over her
topline, but the power of this doe and the beautiful mammary
system help to compensate for that. She has a very
balanced udder with good height and width in rear attachment,
proper placement of teats, and a very pretty fore udder
extension. She is the half sister of Gigi, sharing the same
dam. Simone was shown at the 2007 ADGA Nationals, placing
17th in the Three Year-Old class, as well as being part of the 2nd
place Produce Of Dam. She is so close to becoming a
permanent champion, needing to win only one more leg. Her
show record in 2008 included some 1st udders of class, a Senior
Reserve Champion, a Senior Grand Champion, Best of Breed, and
Best Senior Doe in Show. Simone's lifetime show record includes:
3xReserve Grand Champion, Senior Grand Champion, Best-Of-Breed
and Best Doe-In-Show. Perhaps next year will be her year to
complete her permanent champion status.

Beautiful Lady
Beautiful
Lady showed as a 2nd freshening four year-old in 2008 as a
result of not freshening her until she was two years of age and then
having a false pregnancy as a three year-old. Had she had one
more freshening behind her, she would have classified Excellent.
Nevertheless, we were very happy with her classification scores.
We were concerned with the capacity of her mammary system as a
2nd freshener, competing against does that had four years of
milk production behind them, but she held her ground very well.
She is another powerful doe, wide in the chest with lots of
depth through her barrel. She again has a very balanced
mammary system, proper teat placement with a smooth fore
udder extension and nice width to the rear udder. I would
like to see her rear udder attached just a little higher though.
She did very well for us in the 2008 show season winning 2xSenior Reserve Champion and
2xSenior Grand Champion. Her lifetime show record includes:
2xReserve Junior Champion, 2xJunior Champion, 2xBest Junior
Doe-In-Show, 2xSenior Reserve Champion and 2xSenior Grand
Champion.

Oatmeal's
Brandi
Brandi's dam, CH
Nubilop Acres Oatmeal, is a littermate sister to Gigi.
Brandi is a first freshening two year-old, being level from hooks
to pins with a flat rump, levelness of topline and nice width
through her chest area. She freshened with a nice, balanced
mammary system. She has good width in the rear and as
usual, I would like to see a little more height to it. Her fore
udder has good extension and is tight against her body.
She has nice teat placement but I would like to see her teats a
little smaller for a first freshener. She was shown seven
times in
2008, going 2x1st, 2x2nd, 1x3rd, 2x4th, and Reserve Senior
Champion.

Acres Sweet Lizzy
Lizzy
disappointed
us this spring when she kidded a month early which resulted in
her missing the show season as well as classification. I
was really excited about showing her as I loved the looks of her
as a yearling milker - she had it in general appearance and
mammary system. The only thing that bothers me just a
little bit about Lizzy is her underbite. I have to remind
myself that there are permanent champions out there in the
Nubian breed with an underbite. Lizzy is very affectionate
and also a nuisance. As a yearling milker in 2007, she
freshened late so was only shown winning her class both times
with 1st udder of class. We feel that Lizzy has enough
potential to remain in our herd and have given her a chance to
prove herself.

Acres Scoobee's Tutu
Tutu
has a lot to prove being the daughter of Scoobee
Doo. Tutu's
dam as a yearling milker classified V G85, so at this point, she is
following in her mother's footsteps and we hope it continues.
We know that she will be taller in stature than her dam, as she
is already there. She has the same wide, flat rump that her
dam has, but is a little smoother over the topline than her dam.
Tutu's rear udder is just as wide as her dam's with a little
more height to it. However, at this time, she does not
have quite the fore udder extension that her dam does, but it very
tightly attached. We are hoping that as she matures the
fore udder will extend even further. Tutu has a
littermate sister, Apricott Blossom, who we sold to a friend,
Cole Meador. These two does have been going back and forth
in the show ring. Cole's doe, Apricott Blossom, did win a
Reserve Senior Champion. It will be fun to see these two
does back in the 2009 show ring.

Mystique Cricket
Cricket
is one of those surprise does we were not expecting to turn out
as nice as she did. Her sire, My Enchanted Acres
Heartthrob, has made phenomenal improvement in mammary systems
as well as improving rumps. Cricket has nice ,
tight
shoulders, beautiful chest extension, levelness of topline, a
flat rump, and good depth of body for her age. Her mammary
system is beautifully balanced with proper teat placement,
beautiful fore
udder extension
being smoothly blended and width in that rear attachment - again
just looking for a little more height. She
started the 2008 show season out in the middle of her
classes and as the summer progressed, she climbed higher in her
classes even winning some of them with a first udder of class
and Reserve Senior Champion at the Missouri State Fair.
Nubilop
Acres Lady Bridget
Bridget
is very flashy and the littermate sister to our herd
sire, Sly
Fox. Bridget had a difficult start after delivering
quintuplets (4 bucks and a doe) late this spring. That is
an awful lot for a yearling that had just turned a year herself.
Her back feet were rolled over completely and it has taken a lot
of work to get them back. I don't think her back feet will
ever be completely straight. She did not come into a lot
of milk and I believe that was because those babies had taken so
much out of her. She is finally starting to fill out,
nearly six months later. We are going to wait on that
mammary system with another freshening. It is tightly
attached with adequate fore udder extension and width in the
back. She was not shown until late summer a couple of
times, and unfortunately, we were never able to get her fully
uddered for the show. Nevertheless, she did stand toward
the top of her classes.

Pizzazz
is a long bodied doe who is level over her topline. She is slow
maturing , needing time to fill out, and is very similar to
her dam in that respect. Her general appearance and
mammary system remind me a lot of her dam at that age.
Pizzazz has a long fore udder extension but I would like to see
it a little more smoothly blended. Her rear udder is high
and wide with nice teat shape and size. However, I would
like to see her teats placed more properly underneath her.
Pizzazz was shown eight times going 4x1st and 4x2nd.
